Free Consult, Design, Estimate & Review
Hassle-Free From Start To Finish
We start with a site assessment at your property, then create a detailed custom design and cost estimate. After reviewing and approving the design, we’ll schedule an installation date.
Our first step is to meet you at your property to discuss your needs and expectations. We’ll inspect the areas you want irrigated and the connection point to your existing plumbing.
This on-site consultation helps us consider all details for your new sprinkler system design and gives you the opportunity to ask any questions.
We will design a customized underground sprinkler system for your property using a real property report (RPR). If you can’t provide one, we can often use a Google Maps image.
At Future Green Irrigation, we leverage the latest technology for designing and installing your system. Our computer-aided design (CAD) software ensures an efficient sprinkler system that conserves water over the long term. We believe our innovative designs set us apart from the competition.
After we provide you with a complete proposal that includes the estimate and design, we’ll review it together and make any necessary adjustments. Our detailed estimates clearly outline the costs for parts and labor, ensuring transparency.
You can rest assured that there will be no unexpected surcharges once the project begins.

Only The Best For Your System
We use professional grade materials built to last. Our experienced staff will install an irrigation system that will water efficiently and reliably year after year.

Trenchless Installation
Our vibratory plow can install pipe without digging a trench. This allows us to install into existing lawns with minimal disturbance.
Installation & Maintenance Plan
Most residential irrigation systems are installed within one or two days, after which we conduct a thorough walkthrough. We will test and register the cross connection device with the City of Calgary or your local municipality. You’ll also receive maintenance guidelines, and your installation package includes winterization and spring activation services for the first year.
Most residential irrigation projects typically take one to two days to complete. Homeowners don’t need to be on-site for the entire duration; we only require access to your plumbing to connect the main water source.
Many homeowners ask about potential lawn damage during installation. We use a vibratory plow, which is the least invasive method, and grass usually recovers within a few weeks.
For new landscaping projects, it’s best to install the system before laying sod. If that’s not possible, you’ll need to wait until the sod is firmly established before we can install the system.
After your irrigation system is installed, our technician will conduct a thorough walkthrough, including programming your smart irrigation controller and demonstrating its use.
Next, our AWWA tester will test and register your cross connection device, which must be done annually. The first test is included in your installation package.
Once you’ve used your new system for a while, if any sprinkler heads need adjustments, we’ll make those changes at no additional cost.
We take pride in our high-quality sprinkler system design and installation, building systems that last. However, regular maintenance is essential for optimal performance. Here are three key services to keep your system running smoothly:
Winterization – Each fall, we remove water from your system to prevent freeze damage. The first winterization is included with new installations.
Spring Startup – This involves more than just turning the water on; it’s an opportunity to adjust and realign sprinkler heads for optimal coverage.
Cross Connection Testing – Since 2015, the City of Calgary requires testable cross-connection devices to be installed and tested annually.
Proper Water Connections Built for & Performance and Code Compliance
Your Sprinkler System Works Best With A Dedicated Water Supply.
Your Sprinkler System Works Best With A Dedicated Water Supply
Sprinklers connected to an exterior hose tap often face restricted flow due to the smaller ½-inch pipe. By connecting to your home’s main water supply, you can increase water volume by at least 50%.
We use PEX pipe for the indoor portion of our irrigation mainline, and a DCVA (double check valve assembly) is installed at the connection point to your main supply, as required by local plumbing codes. The permit for this is included in our installation quote, and it requires annual testing by an AWWA-certified tester, which we provide.
At Future Green Irrigation, we design our systems for easy future maintenance. Our manifolds feature swivel union connections, allowing for quick removal and replacement of individual components, including fittings and solenoid valves.

Nozzle Selection Focused on Accuracy and Conservation
Apply Water Uniformly & Reliably Year After Year
Apply Water Uniformly & Reliably Year After Year
The revolutionary MP Rotator irrigation nozzle features a unique, multi-trajectory rotating stream delivery system that achieves significant water-conserving results.
Rather than simply “spray” water onto landscapes, MP Rotators deliver multiple streams of water at a steady rate.
The slower application rate of this nozzle allows water to gently soak into the soil and apply an even distribution throughout the area being irrigated.
This increased efficiency results in up to 30% less water used when compared to traditional sprays and this nozzle also significantly reduces wasteful runoff.

Achieve Water Conserving Results
MP Rotators apply water slowly and uniformly, allowing for maximum soil absorption and minimizing runoff.

Less Restricted Watering
Because of their ongoing commitment to efficiency, Certified Water Managed Sites are less restricted during water use restrictions.

Certified Water Managed Sites
Committed To The Responsible Use Of Water
Committed To The Responsible Use Of Water
A Certified Water Managed Site (WMS) is a property that has an underground irrigation system approved by the City of Calgary for its water efficiency. At Future Green Irrigation, our team includes Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditors (CLIA), a qualification required to complete the certification process for a Water Managed Site, ensuring a seamless in-house experience.
To qualify as a Certified WMS, a property must have an underground irrigation system that uses weather data or on-site environmental sensors to optimize watering schedules. To maintain certification, each site must submit an annual performance report showing a 25% reduction in water use compared to a baseline of an irrigation timer set to water every other day. Additionally, the system must include checks to ensure the safety of the water delivery and measure its performance efficiency.
Thanks to its ongoing commitment to water conservation and efficiency, a Certified WMS faces fewer restrictions during water use restrictions, as outlined in Schedule E of the Water Utility Bylaw. As a new program, certain features and requirements are still evolving. For more information, visit the Water Managed Sites program.

FAQs
Homeowners exploring residential irrigation services often have practical questions. The answers below address common concerns around pricing, timelines, and requirements, helping families feel confident before moving ahead.
How much does a home sprinkler system usually cost?
Pricing depends on property size, soil conditions, irrigation zones, and controller options. Every project begins with an on-site assessment and a written estimate, so homeowners know costs before work starts. Flat-rate pricing avoids surprises and helps with budgeting. This approach allows families to compare options clearly while planning improvements that support long-term water conservation.
Are permits or inspections required for residential irrigation in Calgary?
Certain installations require compliance with municipal and provincial regulations, especially when connecting to the main water supply or installing backflow prevention. Local guidance is available through the City of Calgary and the Government of Alberta websites, which outline plumbing and cross-connection standards. Working with a certified irrigation contractor helps ensure systems align with these rules from the beginning.
How long does a typical residential installation take?
Most residential projects are completed within one to three days, depending on landscape layout and system complexity. Detailed planning, including CAD-based design, helps crews work efficiently while minimizing disruption to lawns or hardscapes. Homeowners receive a clear schedule in advance, making it easier to plan around the installation process with minimal inconvenience.
What kind of warranty or ongoing support is provided after installation?
Systems are installed using proven components and include workmanship coverage for added peace of mind. Ongoing services such as seasonal startup, winterization, and inspections help protect the irrigation system over time. Regular maintenance reduces the risk of unexpected repairs and extends system lifespan. Homeowners ready to plan ahead can schedule service through the online booking portal.
